Please listen to this.

Bonobo - Black Sands

This album is good study music.  He is a guy who mixes jazz with electronic beats and let me tell you he does it well, it is like adding chereos to milk it tastes so good.  He doesn't stray far from what he knows ( his original style) but the slight variations in each song really show off his exceptional creativity.

Just listen and let me know.

B.O.B. - The Adventures of Bobby Ray

Highly anticipated.  Lots of featured artists.  And lots of different styles to the music (better kid-cudi?)

Drake Concert

So I was studying the library and I was worried that I wouldn't make it to the concert in time.  However luckily I got my studying done and i made it to the concert in time for the opening act K-Os.  He fricken killed it.  His dj was so cold, scartching every track so perfectly.  K-Os did a bunch of covers ( Journey) and did a lot of his new shit (unfortunately I haven't listen to a lot from his new CD).  Then he played the orginal classic Superstar part zero and I went nuts.   The problem is I was the only one who went nutz it seemed like everyone in the crowd didn't know who he was and only came for drake (I was the complete opposite).

Then when he was done Drakes dj came out and he was okay.  He didn't transition or mix any songs but he was playing the top 40 hip hop songs that everyone loved at high volume so everyone was bumping to that.  Then when drake came out he started with Forever ( big ups to the girl next to me who predicted that he would start with that song.   He was good in the beginning he was ripping the beat pretty hard.

He was doing some weird body motions the entire night and his pissed off (in the game face) looked weird as fuck look like he was opening a can of pickles that wouldn't open while smelling some nasty rotten milk.  It was weird and i feel like my description hit the head of the nail (LOL).  Then he went into his all the girls love me here phase where he was trying to find a girl to bring to the stage in coress. That shit was wack because there was a 1: 1 ratio of girls to guys so it was hella akward for half of the crowd including myself.
He then talked about his new cd dropping June 15th and how he finished it here in KC which is hella tight and big ups for that.   I will give him his daps because he did show KC some love.

Bitchassness: he was morning the late hip hopers around and didn't mention the late and great GURU (RIP) I was internally angry and upset with him for that.

He repped young money hard and showed his craft of lyrics well when he went acappela.  He can kill concerts but he did too much Rn'B shit and all that girly bullshit too much.

Big ups to K-Os and Drake I feel like you should better relate yourself to your audience and don't cop out with that boosie girls love me shit.  (it is wack)

it's been a while

So life has been super super super busy.  2 tests and a huge lab report in the last week.  Along with that we had to prepare for the KUBDC dacne compeition that was today.  Thankfully we won so that is awesome.  Congrats to everyone on the team and all of our hard work can now be quantized with the money and the acalades we recieved.

It was a long time going; the highs and fun times with the lows and eveyrone bitching at each other but we pooped out a great performance.

Then the whole dj' thing we had a gig at the chateu last week which went well.  Got some new equipment and i pretty much dj'd the club live with brand new equipment so i probably wasn't at my best.  This saturday there is another event; we are doing a wedding for someone.  We got all new equipment for it 2 jbl prx525 1200 watt speakers, new 4 channel behringer production mixer, lighting, smokers, stands, and the new m audio xponent mixer (HOLLLLAAAAAA).

There will be new music posted very soon because this week I have collected some goods but I have not had the time to post things yet.  But everyone get pumped because tomorrow is a new day aka a new day of music.  !!!

After Break

Today is March 21st the last day of spring break and the last day till school starts.  I just came back from Minnnesota and I had a great time.  It wasn't the normal Spring Break Trip where everyone goes to the beach and parties all day.  It was a natural spring break in the sense that nature was the best part.  Hiking, walking around the city, and just absorbing Minnesota from the ground up was excellent.  No partying and no drinking and it was a great time.

However on the way back to KC it went down south which might mean being in KC is bad for spring break.  On the long 7 hour drive back I found out KU lost to UNI in the NCAA tournament and I was so upset.  The number one overall seed was upset by a random 9 seed North Iowa.  It ruined my whole day and ruined the days of many (according to facebook).  I SWARE IF KSTATE OR KENTUCKY WINS THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT I WILL NEVER GO TO A KU GAME AGAIN AND I WILL FOREVER BE PISSED.

Then after this news we got into an accident.  Aman and I were in the car and it spun out on K10 and landed in the middle of the grass median.  No damage to us or to the car which is good but we had to wait there for an hour to get a ride out of there.  Then the next morning we had to wake up early and find a ride to the car because the tow truck could only come then.  Now i am here watching the NCAA tournament in disgust and I am about to go play some ball to avenge my lost soldiers( KU squad)

thought of the day

I am going to Minnesota later today for spring break.  It will be a time where I can relax and not participate in any of the crazy commonplace college spring break antics of crazy drinking nights and long beach days.  With that I thought since my trip will be, hopefully, refreshing; I would give an refreshing thought of the day.

Always write the good things in life on stone so they are set and can never be erased, and always write the bad things in the sand so that the wind of a new day can blow it all away!

two hot new songs.

shit is fire.

Chiddy Bang - Under the Streets (Remix)

Skibadee - Tika Tok Remix

And a classic Nikkfurie - The A la Mente

Blu and Exile

I have decided to turn this blog into a site about everything I like so with that I am putting up a hip hop album I really like.  Blu and Exile their first album "Below the Heavens" and every song is sick.  Exile is this crazy white boy who looks like Brotha Ali to me but he is a master a beetovan of the mpc's.  Check his videos out on youtube he goes off on the mpc with classic hip hop kicks and snares with good samples from oldschool soul.

Then Blu an underated young'n probably 25 or less can really flow. He speaks whatever he feels. He is not trying to gain popularity or talk about guns or shit. He talks about everything in his life and he really knows vocabulary and is not "dumbing it down" when he articulates and expresses himself. I love this album they are both masters of their art and together they laced this record with passion, heart, and true hip hop.

Blu and Exile - Below the Heavens

And then I have to add Jake One - White Van Music
This guy is a Seattle Producer that I guess has good netowrking skills because he has a huge cast of rappers  lacing his beats up: MF DOOM all the way to Keak Da Sneak to Freeway.  His beats are commonplace and that is what I like about him.  His beats remind me of a mix of J. Dilla and MF doom so if you like them check him out too.
